AT&T to Host June 14 Business After Hours

June 4, 2012

The Greater Greenbrier Chamber business community is invited to learn how wireless technology can help local businesses at the June 14th Business After Hours at the AT&T store at 213 Gateway Boulevard.  It will be a great occasion to come and network with fellow members of the business community at the store and outside patio.  AT&T will have complementary drinks and food available provided by Stuart’s Smokehouse as well as some top-notch (and high tech) door prizes!

The Business After Hours event will give an opportunity to learn about AT&T’s latest smartphones and tablets on June 14th at their store at 213 Gateway Boulevard from 5:30 to 7:30 pm    Some of their top devices will be showcased, such as the Nokia Lumia, rated Best in Show at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show; the Wireless Home Phone,  the Pantech Element, the only waterproof tablet and the latest iPad.

A recent survey found that nearly all small businesses said they use wireless technology in their operations and nearly two thirds said that they could not survive – or that it would be a major challenge to survive – without wireless technology.  AT&T will also have experts on hand who can talk about how these devices and many more can be integrated into your businesses.  Some top business apps AT&T recommends:

Dropbox – Have you ever wanted to access a photo, document or video from the road?  Dropbox lets you bring all your photos, docs and videos anywhere you are.  You just upload your documents to Dropbox from your desktop or laptop and then access them via your wireless device.  Bonus: Dropbox is also a great service to sharing large files with colleagues.

ProntoForms from AT&T – Being able to enter information into company-specific forms when you are on the go can be a HUGE timesaver.  ProntoForms lets companies use their compatible AT&T devices to record data from the field wirelessly. It’s perfect for mobile workers in fields like retail, health care, energy, property management, financial services and education.

Scan to PDF —  On the go and need to scan a document?  Scan to PDF turns the camera on your phone or tablet into a scanner, and then turns that image into a PDF you can share with a colleague or a client. This cool app also lets you crop your PDFs.

WorldCard Mobile – Say good-bye to worrying about losing business cards!  With WorldCard Mobile – another great app that turns your camera into a scanner – take a shot of a business card, and the app will automatically enter all the information into your smartphone’s contact list.

PrinterShare – It happens to everyone – you’re visiting a client or friend and realize that you forgot to bring an important document with you.  PrinterShare enables you to print a document out directly from your wireless device without needing a computer as a go-between. As we continue to rely more and more on tablets, this app will become key to printing on documents on the go.   There are some applicable fee with some of these applications.
