Chamber events in June

June 5, 2012

The Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce is hosting two great networking events in the month of June!

Business After Hours at AT&T

The Greater Greenbrier Chamber business community is invited to learn how wireless technology can help local businesses at the June 14th Business After Hours at the AT&T store at 213 Gateway Boulevard.  It will be a great occasion to come and network with fellow members of the business community at the store and outside patio.  AT&T will have complementary drinks and food available provided by Stuart’s Smokehouse as well as some top-notch (and high tech) door prizes!  More about Business After Hours at AT&T –  Register for Business After Hours at AT&T

Business Before Hours at Shoney’s

We would also like to highlight a public event, Citizen’s Forum on the Nation’s Debt.

Local citizens are invited to join a national conversation on the nation’s debt in an open citizen’s forum. This free event is on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the Greenbrier County Court House at 200 Court Street in downtown Lewisburg, WV. Participants may register by email or phone to Liz Dulaney, Moderator from the public engagement program, Virginia Tech, at or 304-497-2532.  Light fare provided.

Forum participants will consider and discuss three approaches to confront the nation’s debt. These approaches are presented in the issue guide entitled, ‘A Nation in Debt: How Can We Pay the Bills? Upon registration, Ms. Dulaney will email to you the issue guide for review. Other accommodations are available for those without access to email. Please consider registering early to ensure proper receipt of the issue guide. Participants are encouraged to bring their issue guide on June 20 for quick reference.

The citizen forum format provides an environment for citizen deliberation in framing what are the important issues and decisions regarding public matters. The forums are nonpartisan and encourage diverse viewpoints. The National Issues Forums Institute in collaboration with the Kettering Foundation prepare the guides for public use. For a description of the National Issues Forums visit or contact NIF Publications,1-800- 600-4060.
