Career Day is November 7th. Have you signed up?
Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting a fun-filled morning for all 10th graders throughout the county on Thursday, November 7th from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM for Career Day. The Chamber hopes to encourage Greenbrier County sophomores to think about their career options and set goals to attain a fulfilling career. The main goal of Career Day is to engage the students with many occupational representatives, interactive displays, giveaways and a career scavenger hunt. This year, we also have a “mentor,” Kim Groover, with Communities in Schools, who will be talking briefly with the students about career choices and be available to assist them while they are at the Fair.
Many sophomores begin selecting their career majors during this time, so it these types of important decision that determines their coursework for their junior and senior years. Participation and willingness to talk about the various aspects of diverse occupations is so helpful, and the Chamber is grateful to the many business that have already signed up for this exciting opportunity. Businesses with ideas such as displays, giveaways and visual aids will be on hand to assist in gaining the student’s attention. The Career Fair is held in conjunction with Greenbrier County Schools, the State Fair Event Center and the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce. The Academic Boosters at Greenbrier East and the Pro-Start Program will be providing a continental breakfast and lunch. For more information, or how to be a part of Career Day, please call Amber McHale, Executive Director, at 304-645-2818.
