Seed Money Sprouting for the May 14 Entrepreneur Café
A corporate sponsor and an anonymous donor have stepped up to make investments in our local economy by supporting the quarterly Entrepreneur Café. First National Bank is the primary corporate sponsor for the May 14th event and their Senior Vice President of Lending, Jeff Vickers will be serving as Master of Ceremonies. An anonymous donor has contributed to make the initial seed money total $950. Crowding funding of the event has the potential to double the amount as it did for the premier event in February.
Applications are being taken for contestants to pitch their new business venture or their expansion, special project, marketing campaign or other idea to grow their business. Applications may be accessed by clicking on the Entrepreneur Café icon on the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce website at www. greenbrierwvchamber.org. Five applicants will be selected to pitch their idea in five minutes before a crowd of interested community members. The attendees will decide the winner and provide critiques to presenters to help them hone their presentation or concept. “Whether you are the winner or not, there are definite benefits of participating. Presenters at the last Café reported receiving great community support for their endeavors due to the awareness generated from the Café publicity.” stated Katie C. Ickes, Executive Director of the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce.
The May 14 event will be held at the auditorium of New River Community and Technical College being with supper at 5:30 pm. New River is joined by the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce and the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation as partners presenting the quarterly events.
