Fall Frenzy at the Greater Greenbrier Chamber
The State Fair of WV has ended, schools are about to start, and the summer is winding down, which only means one thing at the Chamber office: time to get back to the grind! We have a Fall event schedule that we have been building all summer and are very excited to get started!
Our first event is Business After Hours at Little Black Box on August 30. Come help local entrepreneur Ginger Steele celebrate 5 years in business and the completion of her annual model search. There will be delicious food catered by Stuart’s Smokehouse- we love it when Chamber members work together for a great event!
On September 20, we will be holding a Business Before Hours at Greenbrier Technologies in Lewisburg. Greenbrier Technologies always holds a great event, and the breakfast spread should definitely be checked out on your way to work! We will follow that event with our first Power “Lunch” of the season, Focus on Business: Using Microsoft computer apps to streamline tasks and communication.
September 27 will be a great Business After Hours at Greenbrier Valley Theatre in Lewisburg. This event runs right up to the preview night of The Crucible. A great opportunity to network after business hours, meet the cast, enjoy some refreshments, and see a live performance!
Election season is just around the corner, and our Candidates’ forums were a great hit this last spring for the primaries. The Sheriff and County Commission Candidates’ Forums will be held on October 2 at the Underwood Building of the State Fair of WV, followed by the House of Delegates forum on October 9. Once again these forums will be broadcast on local channel 5 and on Radio Greenbrier radio stations.
October’s Business After Hours will be hosted by Smooth Ambler Spirits, who just debuted their first batch of Rye Whiskey. This is sure to be a great evening!
The Power Lunch in October will be a great introduction to Using LinkedIn, hosted by New River Community and Technical College on October 24. More information will be available when we get closer to the date.
United Way will be hosting a Holiday Business After Hours on November 29 as a preview to their Holiday by Design Christmas tree fundraiser at the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in downtown Lewisburg.
December 5 will be our last event of 2012 and will be an Energy Savings for Business Power Lunch. Learn how energy savings can benefit both your pocket and the environment!
Phew, what a jam-packed schedule! Stop by our office today and pick up a Fall 2012 postcard with all of our event dates! We hope to see you there!
